What We Believe
- We believe the 66 books of the bible to be the inerrant word of God, and we look to the bible alone for all sound doctrine. All 66 books are God-breathed and inspired by the Holy Spirit. (II Tim 3:16); (II Pet 1:20-21)
- We believe in the one true God revealed in scriptures in three persons: as the Father, the Word (Jesus the son), and the Holy Spirit. (Jn 1:1); (Jn 8:58), (I Jn 5:7)
- We believe Jesus Christ was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, provided the atonement of our sins by his substitutionary death on the cross. He was resurrected from the dead on the third day; ascended to the right hand of God the Father and continually makes intercession for us. Jesus Christ is God manifested in the flesh. (Matt 1:18-23); (I Pet 1:18-21), (Heb 4:15), (I Tim 3:16)
- We believe Jesus commissioned his followers (the church) to take the good news of salvation through him, to all people on the earth, until he returns. (Matt 28:18-20); (Lk 24:44-48), (Acts 1:8)
- We believe all people are by nature born separated from God due to the original fall of mankind by Adam and Eve. This makes all mankind in need of God’s salvation, redemption, and forgiveness through the grace of our lord Jesus Christ. Apart from Jesus Christ, man is still under sin’s nature and condemnation, and the eternal judgment of God. Man cannot please God in our own human effort apart from Christ. (Gen 3:1-24); (Rom 5:6-21), (Jn 14:6), (Col 1:13-22)
- We believe when any person moved by faith in Jesus Christ confesses sin, repents from sin, and is regenerated by the Holy Spirit, is in fact saved. Faith is the sincere belief of the heart and confession is the evidence of the heart. The Holy Spirit seals all believers, and each believer is born again through the Spirit. The result being the person becomes a child of God, all of their sins are forgiven, freedom from eternal condemnation, and destined to spend eternity with God. (Titus 3:4-7); (Jn 1:11-13), (Jn 3:3-8), (Rom 10:4-13)
- We believe all the promises of God and all things in Christ Jesus are received by faith. All righteousness and salvation are due to the grace of God, and are not earned through works, although true faith is evidenced by works. (Isaiah 64:6); (Eph 2:8-10), (Jas 2:14-26)
- We believe works includes the Lord’s supper, baptism, along with any other human efforts of reverence for God. Baptism is not the means of salvation, but an outward expression of the inward faith. Baptism is a command of Jesus Christ and must be practiced by the church in obedience. The same is true of the Lord’s supper. (Col 2:11-12); (Matt 28:19), (I Cor 11:23-26), (Rom 6:3), (Gal 3:27)
- We believe the gifts of the Spirit are available to the church today to fulfill the works of the great commission and for the edifying of the Body of Christ. (I Cor 12:1-31); (Rom 12:3-8), (Acts 1:8), (Eph 4:7-16)
- Lastly, we believe there is a baptism of the Holy Spirit, which is a separate work of the Holy Spirit besides regeneration at the new birth. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is specifically for the empowering of the believer for the work of ministry. (Acts 1:5-8); 2:33, 9:17, 10:44; (I Cor 12:1-31), (Lk 24:49)
